If you reside OUTSIDE of Georgia, both partners must go to the probate court within the county of the wedding ceremony location. If AT LEAST one partner lives in Georgia, the couple may apply for a marriage license within any county in Georgia. Both partners must show up to the court TOGETHER with valid forms of identifications, and an application fee will be charged by the probate court.
Bring your valid forms of identification and your marriage license to be signed by your officiant. After your ceremony, you have 30 days to return your marriage license to the probate court.
